Looks like we've safely completed day one of our large-scale migration project. I'm praying for not producing mass system glitches after the project. When a glitch occurs, we have no choice but to handle it immediately, even if there are so many complicated approval processes. Governance? It's just pie in the sky. After that, due to lack of governance, a glitch begets the next glitch.
Now, the terms "governance" and "compliance" are also spreading in Japan. But I'm wondering how many people comprehend these terms. Among terms like "evidence", "walk-through", "agenda", "feasibility", "governance", and "compliance", some are already familiar even in Japan. But we also have corresponding Japanese terms. People who use those English terms excessively in Japan's business scene are just trying to obscure the subject and confuse people who don't know any better, unaware of their own lack of vocabulary. So, let's ask them, "What does that term mean?" And let's say, "I'm afraid I don't really understand because of my lack of English skills." I think they probably can't correctly rephrase the terms into Japanese, because they also don't comprehend what the terms mean.
